Welcome to Immanuel United Church of Christ
We are delighted that you are visiting the Immanuel United Church of Christ (UCC) website. We are a caring, multi-generational fellowship with kids and youth, growing families and active adults. You will find that our church is a safe place to grow in your spiritual journey, to find support in raising your family, and where you will encounter a genuinely caring faith community.

Garage Sale set for April 5  -3/20/2014
Immanuel will sponsor its annual Garage Sale and Bake Sale from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, and will serve biscuits and gravy from 7-11 a.m.
There's still time to go through your house or apartment and dig out all those unwanted treasures. Items that sell well are furniture, small kitchenware and appliances, tools, children's clothes, jeans, holiday items, jewelry, and purses.
Please bring all items to the church basement as soon as possible so they can be priced ... no later than April 2.
Please bring your baked goods (pies, cakes, cookies, breads, candies, etc.) before noon on Friday, April 4.
     Questions? Call Kathy Smith.

"Souper Bowl" a Super Success!  -3/19/2014

Thanks to everyone who donated cans of soup during our communitywide 2014 "Souper Bowl Soup Drive!"

For the third year in a row, Immanuel won the coveted Silver Ladle award for collecting the most soup out of the 17 participating area churches. Immanuel donated a whopping 1,295 cans, surpassing its goal of 1,000 cans.

Others in the top five were First Christian, Sacred Heart, Community of Christ, and Christ and Trinity Lutheran. More than three TONS of soup was collected to share with families this winter.

Thanks to Don, Gary, and Dave for delivering the soup to Open Door. We know the families who will receive the soup thank you all!

The Rev. Dr. Steve Buchholz serving Immanuel  -4/2/2013
Immanuel extends a warm welcome to the Rev. Dr. Steven Buchholz, who began serving as our supply pastor in March and will be with us at least through September.
Steve retired in August 2012 from Central UCC in Jefferson City, where he lives with his wife Becky. He serves on several boards and committees and sings in two different choirs, one of which is led by John Kritos' mother. He also serves on the Conference Council.
Steve is a runner and likes to golf, and he and Becky like to snow ski and travel.
Steve received his bachelor's degree from the University of Denver and his Master of Divinity from Eden Seminary. He was the associate pastor at Central for four years. He then served as pastor at Faith UCC in Wentzville for four years, and received his doctorate from Eden while there. He then returned to Central, where he served as full-time pastor for 30 years.
He was honored for 40 years of ministry in Missouri at the conference annual gathering June 7-9 in Springfield.
Becky is a registered nurse and works in critical care at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City. They have two children, Chris, a doctor who is doing his residency in New Jersey, and Annie, who is married and lives in the Kansas City area. Steve and Becky have three grandchildren.
Steve is more than just a supply pastor for us; he also visits members and takes communion to our homebound members.
We are blessed to have Dr. Buchholz with us at Immanuel!
