Garage sale a HUGE success! -3/8/2010
The 2010 garage sale held March 6 was a huge success, raising almost $2,500! Customers were lining up by 6 a.m. (an hour before opening!) to shop, eat biscuits and gravy, and buy wonderful homemade baked goods. Thanks to Kathy Smith and Jennifer Brown for doing a great job as this year's organizers. Also thanks to Melody Swearingen and Leora Bremer for their help, and to EVERYONE else who helped, cooked, baked, and shopped!

Time to sign up for lilies -3/7/2010
Be sure to sign up for lilies to decorate the sanctuary for Easter. There's a sign-up sheet on the bulletin board in the Red Room. We need to let Moore's know a count by March 29. Thanks!
Lenten Breakfast Wednesday -3/4/2010
The next Lenten Breakfast will be at 7 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, at Wesley United Methodist Church. The breakfast and brief devotion will end by 7:45 or 7:50 a.m., so plan to join us before you head off to work or your busy day. See you there!

Donate to earthquake relief fund -2/19/2010
Please remember the families devastated by the earthquake in Haiti and the volunteers who are there helping. To donate, make your check payable to Immanuel UCC and mark the memo line "Haiti Earthquake Relief," or go to www.ucc.org and follow the prompts. And pray ... and pray ... and pray.

Need something new to read during these frigid February days? Stop by the IUCC Library and check out a book! Just follow the simple sign-out steps and enjoy! The Health and Wellness Committee would like to add more books, too ... to donate "good reads," just leave them on the desk in the library.

785 cans of soup? A "souper" success! - 3/5/2010
Thanks to the generosity of Immnauel members who donated 785 cans of soup (a whopping 556 pounds!) to the 2010 "souper bowl" drive sponsored by the Pettis County Ministerial Association. All soup will be donated to the Open Door Food Pantry and distributed locally. Note: The need for food is ongoing! We are collecting peanut butter and jelly for Open Door for the month of February. Shop early; buy lots!

Christmas food bag drive a success - 1/11/2010
Our Christmas food bag drive was a huge success. We donated 111 bags—each with a $10 gift card for meat plus all the items needed for Christmas dinner. The sacks weighed a total of 1,408 pounds. For the month of December, we donated 1,566 pounds of food, bringing our annual total to 8,124 pounds.Thanks to everyone for your ongoing generosity!
Congratulations to confirmation class of 2011 - 9/27/2009
The confirmation class of 2011 was recognized during worship Sept. 27 as they began their special faith journey. Church Council secretary John Kritos presented Bibles to the students. The five who met from 5-6 p.m. Sunday for their first confirmation session are Kylie Bales, Austin Bullerd, Paige Staus, Drake Stetzenback, and Megan Wilbanks.
2009 Food 4 Kids ends on high note - 9/4/2009
Our free lunch program Food 4 Kids ended on a high-energy note Sept. 4, with 67 people attending the final day of the program for 2009. In addition to sharing a delicious meal of Mazzios' Meat Buster Pizza, fruit, vegetables, chips, and milk, program attendees played bean bag toss and musical chairs for prizes and walked the cookie walk for bags of homemade cookies. A drawing for special prizes was held and school supplies were sent home with all the children, topping off a wonderful day and grand finale to the summer lunch time celebration.
