Meet Pastor Cathy Jurgens

Pastor Cathy Jurgens was called to Immanuel United Church of Christ in November of 2015.  Pastor Jurgens was instilled on January 31, 2016.   

 

Cathy grew up in a small community in Wisconsin.  She graduated from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography with an Environmental Sciences emphasis.  She then worked as a cartographer for about eight years.  During this time God called her to ministry and she enrolled in the Chicago Theological Seminary and received a Master of Divinity degree.

 

She participated in Clinical Pastoral Education, which is a hospital chaplaincy internship that requires 400 hours of group time and clinical time.  She interned at two churches in Illinois.  She served as a part-time Pastoral Assistant at a UCC church in Crystal Lake, Illinois.  

Since joining IUCC Cathy has been actively involved in Sedalia.  She currently sits on the Open Door board, and is active in the Pettis County Ministerial Alliance.
